 In-House AI News: Dante leaves.
Site Well, folks, it's been fun. For a long time I've enjoyed writing the news, and working with Anx. (whose been a real pleasure to work with, always open to ideas :D ) but now, I must leave, I have other projects to take care of and such things would ultimately lead me to a bias when covering the news. That, and I can't be as flippant as I like on here.

I'd also like to thank my many interviewees for their time in helping this site become better.

I will be moving onto my blog; http://lifeamongthemachines.blogspot.com/ and from there I will cover AI, Linux and various other items of interest.

So, dear readers, perhaps I'll see you later, eh?

Ciao.

-Dante

In-House AI News: Home Automation and Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence Randy writes "Hello everyone. This is my first news posting although I have posted on the forum three or four times.

I am writing my own artificial intelligent home automation system. It has a specific mindset... to control my home using voice recognition and pure English for simple conversation. Usually the conversation will be short with the end result in doing something in the house. However, I'm keeping in mind expansion especially in the A.I. realm.

To that end, the name of my home automation system is A.L.E.X.I.S. (Automated Living Experimental Intelligence System) which may eventually play games while carrying on a conversation, or discuss news of a favorite television program while searching the channels for it.

This website was created in memory of the ChatbotFriends website which inspired me to delve deeper into the topic of Chatbots (Chatterbots). I originally started it as a replacement when that site went down, but we have since branched out a lot. We were originally the Chatbot Hub and focused mainly on chatbots but, with the growth of the site, we decided to expand out to other similar aspects of AI and rename ourselves "AI Hub". I hope that all of the visitors can be inspired by what Artificial Intelligence can accomplish.
