Business: A2I2 Launchs AGI-based product.

AGI, otherwise known as Artificial General Intelligence, is being used to replace call-center workers. Having been under development since 2001, the product is a speech-based interactive voice response system
Think of it as a call center operator, but without needing touch-tone response systems. Whilst it may not sound that different from current systems, it has one big lovely advantage;
it's an open-domain speech recognition system, which means it can ask me questions such as "What can I do for you today?" and recognize and understand my reply rather then "say Balance for your balance". I consider this next-gen tech and I can only hope it will succeed, because without it I swear to god I'll stop talking to my bank on the phone and get back to writing snail-mail.
